Full Moon for Improv in Toronto


In Toronto comedy, improv has almost always been viewed as the bronze medalist on the podium, looking up enviously at sketch and stand-up. Never mind that most of the material for Second City’s revues comes from the improv sets after their shows; it’s almost always our sketch exports, like SCTV and Kids in the Hall, or individual sketch or stand-up performers like Jim Carrey or Mike Myers, that people think of when asked about comedy in Toronto.

Charlie Brooker, the genius behind tvgohome.com and a couple great BBC4 shows about how dumb you are and why you watch 24 and heroes when real tv shows like The Wire and Deadwood exist, has written a pretty spot on endictment of the 5% of you reading this who think Macs are even computers at all.

Macs are glorified fisher price activity centers for adults.

He uses the ultimate argument here too. “Doom came out for PCs, but not for Macs”.

That is PROOF.
